Chime aggregates all your notifications from Gmail and social networks including Facebook and Twitter. The Chime icon in the Chrome toolbar gets highlighted when you unread notifications or you may choose to receive them individually as desktop notifications.

What’s unique about Chime is that it requires no setup and uses the existing login session in your browser to pull in all these notifications from various sites. As long as your logged into a site, Chime can fetch the notifications.

Chime developers say that none of your data is uploaded anywhere and all the process happens on the local computer.

Chime can handle notifications for Gmail, Facebook, Twitter, Google Plus, Reddit, Stack Overflow, Flickr, Github, Quora and Foursquare. There’s no LinkedIn though.
