Sometimes you may want to know if a visitor is on your website for the first time or if they have been on the site earlier. Cookies are a popular option for detecting new visitors and First Impression makes it even easier.

First Impression is a tiny JavaScript library that will detect first-time visitors by checking the existence of a cookie. If one doesn’t exist, it will create one with an expiration of 2 years though you can always change the default values.

Unlike the popular jQuery.cookie plugin, First Impression doesn’t require you to include the jQuery library and works across all browsers that support cookies.
