Project Naptha add OCR capabilities to your Google Chrome. You can right-click any image on a web page and the add-on will extract the text from that image allowing you to copy-paste into another application.

It works with photographs, scanned documents, screenshots, Internet memes and even comic strips. If you captured a newspaper clipping with your camera phone, you can put it on Dropbox and extract the text from the clipping with Project Naptha.
There could be some errors in text recognition but is still much faster than manual transcribing.

There’s translation built-in so you can highlight the words on a image and right-click to translate your selection in a different language.

One more thing. The text on an image is editable so you can’t just copy the image to the clipboard, you can even erase the words from the image.
